...besides cars of course, is language. It's such a wonderful tool with which to describe the world around us. I thought I'd start doing some 'wordlopnik' posts a couple of days a week with a great phrase, quote or word and a fitting pic attached. The first one's in the process at the moment. If anything, it's a good excuse to post some pretty pictures :)

I love words that have no translation in English: Débrouillard ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/System_D ) is a great example, as is Wabi Sabi (Japanese). I have a list of cool words. Other examples: Saudade (Portuguese) – the feeling of longing for something or someone that you love and which is lost. Or one of my favourites: Tartle (Scottish) The act of hestitating while introducing someone because you’ve forgotten their name. Words are fun.

I do as well :) one of my favourites is Bricoleur (French). Someone who starts a project with no real plan in mind and just sort of cobbles things together as they go along.
Qarrtsiluni (Iñupiaq) is another great one. It translates as 'sitting together in the darkness, waiting for something to burst'.

I'll have to remember Bricoleur, as that describes me to a tee. Which reminds me, in Japanese tekitou can mean everything from just so, to thawing together however you want. It's a great word that can have a connotation much like Bricoleur.
